Time for the next chapter in this sad little tale also known as 'my life'. I finally received my long awaited letter from KDOL (KS Dept of Labor) that informed me that my telephone interview to review my case would take place on July 27th some time between 8am and 12pm. It also advised that I be available for this call because it was extremely important. Yep, in bold letters, just like that. Like I wasn't aware how important it would be for me to have some kind of income in order to maintain the lifestyle to which I've become accustomed...you know, NOT homeless. Then the letter went on to say that if my telephone was no longer in service then I would need to contact them at such-n-such a number on the date and during the time period my call was scheduled. One more thing in bold print to complete the letter: You must supply this agency with a current address and telephone number. If your address or telephone number changes, you must notify this office immediately. Don't they call this foreshadowing, like a hint about what's going to happen next? Translation: If we've fucked around too long so that your phone is shut off and you've been evicted, we need your forwarding address and contact information.
Wow, now that's what I call red tape. It seems to me they aren't too worried about you keeping your house or paying bills on time. In fact, it's really like they drag their feet on purpose. I admit it, I cried when I read that shit. Duh, I said I'm trying to stave off depression, I didn't say I was succeeding. Anyone else having these types of issues? Starting to feel all alone...
